After the glory days of the medieval period, in which the openings of Gothic churches started displaying magnificent stained glass windows (Saint-Michel-des-Lions and Saint-Pierre-du-Queyroix churches), the art of stained glass found a new life in the early 20th century with Art Nouveau and Art Déco in non-religious buildings (Pavillon du Verdurier, Bénédictins railway station) and in religious ones (church of Sacré-Coeur) present in Limoges.
