This fountain was built in 1892 and 1893, and is a unique combination of pink granite, bronze and porcelain. It was designed by Gennuys, the assistant head teacher of The Decorative Arts School in Paris, friend of the headmaster of the National School of Limoges.(Ecole Nationale de Limoges). The fountain's high fired porcelain and basin come from the Guérin factory who also confected ceramic pieces for Limoges's covered market hall. The four little boys on the fountain represent the different phases of the porcelain industry: drawing, moulding, sculpting and decorative painting.
